Outdoor Wood Furnaces

Outdoor Wood Furnace

For many years Alternate Heating Systems has manufactured what we believe is one of the most efficient outdoor wood furnaces on the market.  However, because of current State-level and local government regulatory changes and what we believe will be greater regulation of outdoor wood furnaces from the EPA in the future (see information below), we have decided to discontinue manufacturing our outdoor wood furnace line.  We instead recommend to you our premium wood gasification boiler.  Our premium wood gasification boilers produce only about one-fourth the maximum particulate emissions allowed by the EPA for wood combustion and can be placed outside if housed in a weather-proof structure.

What is wood gasification?  It is a process for burning wood in which gases from the wood are burned rather than the wood itself which causes much more efficient combustion.  (Click the link for more information.)
The following is regulatory and other information that might be helpful in determining what type of wood boiler you wish to purchase.

Please see our high efficiency Wood Gasification Boiler product line, or, for a lower-cost alternative for burning wood, see our
Multi-Fuel Boiler product line.
